It's also often an uncomfortable part of the
cycle, one we sometimes struggle with or against. When things happen
that we neither expect nor want, how do we honour our real human
response and find ways to live calmly and well amid the chaos?
This becomes a particularly significant question when we
recognize, as David La Chapelle says in his book Navigating the Tides of
Change "Chaos is often the boundary of the possible, the new, and
the emergent and appears to be essential to the creation of our world.
Rather than trying to control and subdue chaos, we are being invited to
surf the waves of change with skill and artfulness."
The material shared in this course provides a powerful
resource for understanding the subtle (and not so subtle) energies
working within and between us, especially when the stresses and strains
of life seem overwhelming. It is especially useful for those who coach or
lead others; however this program is not about changing or fixing
others. The focus of this two day seminar is you!
The first Session focuses on Living Well with Others,
and includes sections on our different styles of dealing with conflict,
communicating so the message we want to send is most likely to be the one
received, clarifying roles and expectations in our relationships, and the
various roles we often find ourselves in as we relate to each other.
In second Session, attention shifts to a more
intra-personal focus Living Gently with Ourselves - what does
happen when life unfolds for us in ways we neither expect nor want?, the
challenge of embracing paradox in our lives, what are some of the things
going on when we feel stuck in ineffective patterns?, and we explore a
number of effective ways of responding in these circumstances.
