My Signature Projects

I am constantly learning (see My Essence), and over the years, I have been involved in projects that have been for me a series of discoveries and learnings about myself, and various fascinating topics.  This has all been part of discovering who I am, what I love, and what I want to do when I grow up!  I have:

  • Worked as a Registered Nurse in a Post-Anaesthetic Recovery Room

  • Facilitated Continuous Quality Improvement groups at the hospital in which I worked

  • Individually and collaboratively developed a number of courses for adults

  • Created a church library

  • Designed a bereavement support, and a volunteer support program

  • Coached groups of participants as they practiced Facilitative Leadership (a course taught by a friend and colleague Dalton Kehoe)

  • Participated in training which allows me to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

  • Followed my interest in communicating clearly into the field of conflict management, and did training in Third Party Conflict Management with John Savage of LEAD

  • Through the generous mentoring of a friend/colleague, Rick Weiler, participated in Mediation Training, and explored the possibility of working as a mediator

  • Trained with one of the originators of the Appreciative Inquiry process - David Cooperrider – and now consciously incorporate this way of being into my life and work

  • After my initial coaching training with the Coaches Training Institute, I continue my professional development by participating in conferences and workshops – both in general coaching, and specific fields

  • Learned about Whole-Body Learning – the link between our breathing, emotions and thinking.  As part of the second group trained by Gay and Katie Hendricks, I became a Charter Faculty of the Living University, a worldwide learning community devoted to teaching the core skills of conscious living

  • I completed an extensive ADD Coach Training program with the Optimal Functioning Institute, an organization which specializes in training coaches working in the field of ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) – as well as enhancing my coaching skills, this has been a wonderful way of understanding, appreciating and learning more about the gifts and challenges that come with the territory of loving and living in an ADD family!

  • In the Fall of 2000, I joined a group of 7 other coaches in Dave Buck’s inaugural 100 Days Virtual Expedition! As intrepid adventurers, we supported, cajoled, encouraged and celebrated each other in choosing, exploring, climbing and reaching the ‘summit’ of the various projects we had chosen.  The creation of this web site was a direct result of that process!

  • Since the Fall of 2001, I have been shifting my coaching focus to coaching those who are living with dying. This has long been a passion for me, and September 11 brought the need into sharp relief. So, I've been creating material with this in mind, and actively making contacts and learning from those in the Hospice and Palliative Care field.

  • When Thomas Leonard founded Coachville in 2001, I knew this would be a wonderfully creative adventure to be part of, so became one of the founding members.  Since then I participated in the inaugural Coachville Conference March 2002, and have enrolled in the Graduate School of Coaching - an environment I know will constantly challenge me to think and create and grow, both personally and professionally.

  • I have become host to a teleclass where we explore Delicious Ideas - a time for thinking creatively about some of the big questions of life. If you're interested in joining us, please use the link below to email me, and I'll add you to the mailing list for our next gathering!
